Our Board of Education hires the superintendent. They meet about twice a month. Working with the Superintendent and the Assistant Superintendent of Business Services, the board approves an annual district budget during June of each school year. The Board also ensures that LVJUSD policies are compliant with local, state, and federal laws governing public education. They approve all the employee labor contracts in the district, which include the Livermore Education Association (LEA), the California School Employees Association (CSEA), and the Service Employees International Union (SEIU). Very importantly, the Board works to establish and meet priorities for student achievement, student and staff safety and well-being, and community involvement.
LVJUSD Superintendent
With more than 30 years of experience in public education, Dr. Anthony Limoges has served as a teacher, middle and high school administrator, Director of Secondary Education, and Associate Superintendent of Human Resources prior to joining the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District as Superintendent. Most recently, he served as the Associate Superintendent of Human Resources for the Rocklin Unified School District, where he led personnel services, labor relations, recruitment, and organizational development. Previously, he served as Director of Secondary Education in Elk Grove Unified School District, overseeing curriculum and instruction for 24 middle and high schools.
A proud father of four, he enjoys spending time with his family, exploring the Sierra Nevada mountains, and fishing in California's remote streams.
He is committed to building strong relationships with students, staff, families, and the community while ensuring every student has the opportunity to learn, grow, and thrive.
