Election
Endorsed Candidates
Livermore Advocates for Public Education (LAPE) is proud to announce our endorsement of three outstanding candidates for the LVJUSD School Board:
Tara Boyce – Area 2
Tara Boyce brings something every school board needs: the ability to read a budget and ask the right questions. Her financial acumen and her work on the LCAP committee mean she already understands how district dollars are meant to reach students, and how to tell when they aren't. She is also a longtime parent in the district, and she knows the schools from the inside. As the Area 2 representative, she will be a strong voice, especially for Junction students and families, ensuring that a Title I school gets the attention and resources it deserves. Tara will protect all kids, and she has the skills to back that up. Vote Tara Boyce for Area 2.
Angela Brady – Area 3
Good decisions start with good information, and Angela Brady knows how to find it. As a data analyst, she looks past anecdotes and talking points to see what is actually happening for students, then asks what the district should do about it. Her years as an engaged parent in LVJUSD give those numbers a human context. Just as important is her temperament. Angela is calm and thoughtful, the kind of trustee who listens fully before she speaks and keeps the focus on the needs of students. She is committed to protecting all kids. Area 3 should elect Angela Brady.
Christiaan VandenHeuvel – Area 5
Continued leadership matters on a school board, and Christiaan VandenHeuvel has demonstrated this over the past two years. He has taken part in the committees that handle the district's budget, and he has put that knowledge to work during difficult financial decisions. Before his election, Christiaan spent three years as Livermore High PTSA president, served on school site councils at LHS and East Avenue Middle School, and has worked as a substitute teacher. Christiaan is dedicated to protecting all kids. His faith background shapes a steady commitment to service, humility, and treating every person with dignity. Area 5 should keep Christiaan VandenHeuvel on the board.
These candidates share LAPE's commitment to strong public education in our community. We encourage all Livermore voters to volunteer, donate, and support them at the polls.
Vote November 3rd!
